School visit from Breivang upper secondary school

Last week, we welcomed students from Breivang upper secondary school to a full-day practical session on AI and programming at UiT The Arctic University of Norway

By Petter Bjørklund, Communication Advisor at SFI Visual Intelligence

Associate professor Kristoffer Wickstrøm led the session and started it off with an introductory lecture on AI, what it is, its strengths and weaknesses, and how it can be used in practice

After the lecture, the students took part in a practical exercise where they used programming skills and AI algorithms to solve a classic image processing task.

- The exercise was meant to put the students' learning into practice and give them a hands-on experience with using elementary AI, says Wickstrøm.

Thanks to Breivang upper secondary school for coming to UiT to learn more about AI and programming. We look forward to many more school visits in the future!
