The seminar, organized by NORA and UiB AI, gathered some of Norway's leading AI researchers to discuss the current state of research, the areas where Norway has the potential to stand out, and what might happen in the AI field in the future.

Core topics of the seminar were how the research frontier will be in various branches of AI in five years, and if AI represents the public interest, for example, in matters of democracy, labor, welfare, environment and culture.

Director Robert Jenssen was invited to give a talk at the seminar, sharing his views on where mathematical neural networks, societal challenges, users and innovation meet. The talk was followed by a panel discussion between Jenssen, Anne Kjersti Fahlvik (Research Council of Norway), Arnoldo Frigessi (UiO), and Jill Walker Rettberg (UiB).
